New versions of the Skate Half Cab® and Skate Rowley unite two generations of the world's most progressive skaters.
Costa Mesa, California (August 6, 2024) – Steve Caballero and Geoff Rowley are two of the most fearless and progressive skaters in skateboarding history. Their ongoing commitment to innovation continues to influence a new generation of emerging skate icons. That’s why Vans Skateboarding has brought together Caballero and Rowley with nine of today’s most innovative skaters to celebrate the Skate Half Cab® and Skate Rowley—modern versions of two Vans Skateboarding icons. The first, originally released in 1992, is an "official" version of the original Caballero, which resourceful skaters modified using scissors and tape. The second, first launched in 1999, is a sleek, vulcanized silhouette that stood in contrast to the oversized *cupsole* models of its time.
Breana Geering, Daiki Hoshino, Zion Wright, Rome Collyer, Dick Rizzo, Curren Caples, Nelly Morville, Diego Todd, and Pedro Delfino join Caballero and Rowley in writing this new chapter, aiming to inspire the next generation of skaters. Delfino will also have his own version of the Skate Half Cab. The campaign, divided into two parts, follows Caballero and Rowley as they take the young talents to their favorite spots in California, encouraging them to build on the legacy of these iconic locations by showcasing their own skills and creativity.
The Vans Skate Classics collection features PopCush™ insoles, providing maximum support, responsiveness, and impact protection, while reinforced Duracap™ rubber layers enhance durability, and SickStick™ soles deliver superior grip and board feel. Both models come in a black and purple colorway, energized by bold hot pink details. The footwear is also accompanied by an apparel collection, including a hoodie, t-shirt, jeans, cap, and socks.
The new Skate Half Cab® and Skate Rowley from Vans Skateboarding, along with the apparel collection, will be available at vans.pt/skate starting August 8. Pedro Delfino’s Skate Half Cab will be available from August 15.
